Perilous Pathways Magazine is a supplement for the Mazes & Perils Deluxe Roleplaying Game. The magazine aims to enrich gameplay with new monsters, backgrounds, gameplay tools, characters, and more.

This issue introduces the Bard Class. Bards use music as their magic, unlike Magic-Users and Enchanters who use spellbooks, or Shamans who use a blessed weapon. They are not physical fighters and wear light armor. Their Charisma score determines their chance of learning new spells and their bonus to Charm/Trust.

Bards gain new abilities as they level up, starting with Bardic Magic at level one and culminating in Masterpiece Performance at level twelve. The magazine also includes a list of instruments for inspiration, a spell list, and detailed spell descriptions.

Beyond combat, bards can influence others with storytelling, music, acting, swordplay, acrobatics, makeup, or prop-making. They must, however, focus on their chosen medium when using their mystical bardic arts.

The Magazine also features "Rapid Ruins", a tool for quickly generating ruins for a campaign. Six tables offer 48 possibilities, covering aspects like local beliefs about the ruins, their cause of ruin, reasons for their lack of plundering, age, type, and previous occupants.

Additionally, there is "Random Villainous Factions," a table that aids in creating villainous factions or cults. The table covers the organization's name, description, overall goal, and methods.

Finally, the magazine introduces a new creature, the "Scuttler," a venomous, crab-like creature that dwells in dark places.
